Intellectual Property

The stories presented on this Website are modernised versions of Sir Richard Francis Burton's 1885–1888 translation of The Book of the Thousand Nights and a Night. Burton's original translation is in the public domain.

However, the modernised text, the original illustrations accompanying each story, the audio narrations, the website design, and all other original content on this Website are © Andrea Malagodi, 2026. All rights reserved. This modernisation represents substantial creative effort across 443 stories and sixteen volumes, and is protected by copyright.
